Vic: Boat users warned on low water levels

Marine Safety Victoria has warned all boat users to be cautious while boating on inlandwaterways due to record low water levels across the state.

The warning advises that tree stumps and other previously submerged objects are nowvery close to the surface of the water, presenting a hazard for boats.

Recreational Boat Safety Officer TAFFY EVANS is urging boat users to operate at a safespeed and keep a sharp lookout for obstacles.

Mr EVANS also says boat users who want to travel at faster speeds, such as water skiers, should seek local knowledge and conditions of the area and read the signs at boat ramps.
